How Florida Scratch-Off Odds Work
Original odds and current odds answer different questions
Official overall odds describe the original probability of any prize, including a break-even prize. They do not give the probability of a top prize or of making a profit. At 1 in 4, the original probability of any prize is 1 / 4 = 25%. This does not promise one winner in each group of four tickets.
Why remaining prizes are not current odds
A prize may be unclaimed even though its ticket has already been sold. To calculate current odds among unsold tickets, both the unsold ticket count and the winning-ticket distribution within that inventory would be needed. Our stored prize tables do not establish these quantities. A decrease in unclaimed prizes alone therefore cannot show whether current odds rose or fell.
Counts, money and expected return
One prize out of two is exactly 50% of the original count. It is not 50% of the money across all tiers. Expected return would weight each prize amount by its probability; it cannot be calculated reliably from counts of unclaimed prizes alone. Periodic and lifetime prizes also require payout terms and a defensible valuation method.
Compare the published facts
Use the comparison tool to hold ticket price constant, then inspect original overall odds, top-tier counts, launch dates and data dates separately. A game with more unclaimed prizes is not automatically more likely to produce a winning unsold ticket. No ranking here predicts a winning ticket.
A reproducible example from our records
$25,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER (#1590) reports 1 unclaimed top-tier prizes out of 2 original prizes, checked 2026-11-04 08:17:01 UTC. The unclaimed percentage is 100 × 1 / 2 = 50.0%. That fraction describes top-prize counts only.
Our earliest stored observation (2026-09-03) reports 1; the latest (2026-11-04) reports 1. The net observed change is 0. Neither date establishes an exact claim date, and these counts alone cannot produce current ticket odds.
